Summer Sunday Program: Shooting/Puck control and Over Speed (Bantam-PWHL)

  • When:
  • Where:
  • Shooting and puck handling are two skills that a lot of female hockey players are always trying to improve. A player can always work on getting better in these areas. For this reason, we offer a program/clinic that focuses specifically on these two areas. We have run this clinic before, and feedback has been great so we are offering more sessions!

Age Groups:Bantam-PWHL

Focus: Power, quick release, accuracy, shooting off of a fake, goal scoring. This portion of the program will focus on shooting technique. We will encourage our players to try new things to make their shots more powerful and accurate. Towards the end of the program, our focus will be geared toward goal scoring habits.

Stick handling + Puck Control

Focus: Top hand away from body, loose bottom hand, puck control while skating. This portion of the program will focus on getting players to be more comfortable with the puck at both a slow and fast pace.

Over speed

Focus: The speed of the game has come a long way in female hockey over the past few years, we will work on keeping our feet moving at all times, with and without the puck.
