Meet the Team

LMcIntosh Hockey aims to develop female hockey in the Waterloo Region and surrounding areas. We have been very excited to see the growth of female hockey over the past decade and look to set the standard even higher.

Laura McIntosh

Founder & Head Coach

Through Laura's experiences, she has developed a great understanding of what it takes to excel at some of the highest levels of women's hockey. It is these experiences that enable her to teach both fundamental and advanced hockey skills. She is excited to share her knowledge of the game with the future generation of female hockey.

Former Head Coach in PWPHA (Professional Women's Hockey Players Association) 2019- 2023

Served as an Assistant Captain and Co-Captain at Ohio State

All-time Ohio State University leading scorer with 170 points (123 assists, 47 goals)

Member in the Hockey Canada Program from 2008-2012

6 years associate coaching experience at the USPORTS level 

Attended Ohio State University (NCAA D1) on a full scholarship and received a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology and Physical Education

Member of Canada's Under-18 National Team 2008 (Compete in the first ever IHF U-18 Worlds, won a Silver Medal)

2018-2019 CWHL Clarkson Cup Champion

Member of Canada's U-22 National Team 2010-2012 (Gold at MECO Cup)

Shannon Stewart

Hockey Operations Coordinator & On Ice Instructor

Shannon has a background in marketing and works closely with our social media, website, email marketing, organizing registrations for camps, and communication to athletes/families. Shannon also assists in all on-ice programming and coaching spring teams. With her playing experience and passion for the game, Shannon is a great fit at LMcIntosh Hockey.

Former player for Team Scotiabank in the PWHPA (Professional Women's Hockey Players Association). 2019- 2023

Received her Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education & Post Grad in Digital Media Marketing

Played 2 seasons in the Canadian Womens Hockey League(CWHL) for the Toronto Furies (2017-2019)

Played professional hockey in Germany in the DFEL for Memmingen (2016-17) 

Played 4 seasons at Plattsburgh State University. 2X National Champion and 2X All-American, Served as Assistant Captain in senior year. (2011-2015)

Played professional hockey in Sweden in the SDHL for Linkoping (2015-16)

Attended Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute(FESTI) 

Attended the University of Waterloo (OUA) and is a candidate for a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Sociology

Played three years in the PWHL for the Kitchener-Waterloo Rangers

Sarah Rettinger

On Ice Instructor

Position: Forward

Sarah has been working as an on-ice instructor since September 2017. Her work ethic on and off the ice exceeds many and she is always striving to get better. This attitude is shown through instructing and she enjoys working with players hoping to make it to the next level.

Position: Defence

Lilly has been through our programs as an elite athlete over the past 7 years alongside her sister Megan. Through her hard work and dedication to her own development, as well as the development of our younger athletes she is a great addition to our staff.

Megan Bell

Megan has been an elite athlete participating in our programs over the past 7 years alongside her sister Lilly.  She continues to be determined and hard working in her own development and enjoys giving back to our younger athletes.

Emma Cheeseman

Position: Defence

Emma has been working as an on-ice instructor since September 2017. Emma enjoys working with young players and helping them achieve their goals. Her work ethic and passion for the game make her an excellent mentor and coach.

Taylor Trussler

On Ice Instructor

Position: Forward

Taylor started off by playing with our spring teams prior to heading off to University.  It has been great to watch and be a part of her successful hockey journey.  She is a very highly skilled player who enjoys getting on the ice with our younger athletes.

Aubrey Cole

On Ice Instructor

Position: Defence

Aubrey has been an instructor with us for the past 3 summers.  Her attention to details and focus makes her a great addition to our staff.  She is able to connect with our young athletes and mainly focuses on the defensive side of the game.

Grace Cuiman

On Ice Instructor

Position: Defence

Grace went through our program as an athlete for many years and has developed into a very strong leader on and off of the ice.  She is always amazing to have at camp and the young athletes really look up to her.

Hanna DeCoutere

Position: Defence

Hannah is one of the newest additions to the team. She enjoys working with our athletes, with a focus on the defensive side of the game. Hannah is eager to share her passion and expertise with the next generation of players

Robyn Degagne

Position: Forward

Robyn has been working as an on-ice instructor since 2016 and has developed into a great leader both on and off the ice. Robyn enjoys mentoring young athletes and helping them reach the next level of their game. Her work ethic and passion for the game make her an excellent mentor and coach.

Kaitlyn McDonell

Played professional hockey in

Austria from 2017-2018

Previous Strength and conditioning coordinator at the Univ of Waterloo with the women's hockey team from 2016-2017

Played 5 seasons with the University of Waterloo where she received two team MVP rewards. Served as captain of the Warriors from 2014-2016

Position: Forward

Kaitlyn has a number of experiences working as a coach and mentor. She brings strong leadership to our instructor staff and always enjoys getting on the ice with the players. Her commitment, work ethic and knowledge of the game exceed many!
